While ShowBizRadio.net is not going 100% dark for the day, we would like to urge you to contact your members of Congress to let them know your thoughts of those bills. ShowBizRadio has been affected by piracy and copyright infringements in the past. But these bills go too far in trying to address this issue.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival produced seven premiere works created by Maryland playwrights between July and September, and announced last week the results of the 30th competition. BPF is already preparing for their 31st season, with events starting in the next few months.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival proudly announces the results of its Season XXX competition for new works.
The Awards for Best Production followed along the same lines: First Place for Theatrical Mining Company’s production of Abraham & Isaac, directed by Barry Feinstein, Second Place to The Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theater for Unraveled on the Gravel, directed by Michael Tan, and Third Place to Fells Point Corner Theater’s production of The Sculptress, directed by Juliana Avery. Zulu Fits, directed by Alonzo LaMont for Heralds of Hope Theater, Web of Deceit, produced by Red Branch Theater and directed by Jennifer Spieler, Self, Inc., directed by Da’Minique Williams for Theatrical Mining Company and Asking Questions produced by Fells Point Corner Theater and directed by Peter Davis, all received Honorable Mentions.

The winners were announced at an Awards Dinner and Ceremony which took place at the University of Baltimore Student Center on Monday, September 19th. The Baltimore Playwrights Festival congratulates this year’s winners, and would like to thank all the playwrights, theaters, directors, actors, technical support and judges whose participation in this year’s Festival made the BPF’s Thirtieth Season a roaring success. Most of all, the BPF would like to thank the Baltimore theater-going audience, without whose support we would not be able to fulfill our mission of nurturing playwrights in the Maryland and District of Columbia area.
